Drafts in your
firm's own hand.

Silk drafts from the precedents your seniors approved and delivers real Word documents on your firm's stationery — typefaces, margins, letterhead and drafting standards set once.

Free 14-day trial · then from R900 per attorney per month · extra usage only if your firm chooses it

From precedent to signed-off draft in one place.

An approved precedent bank

Anyone submits a precedent; a senior approves it into the bank. Approved precedents become drafting bases in chat — Silk follows their structure and clause architecture and flags where it departs. Unapproved precedents are never shown beyond their uploader and curators.

Precedents & positions

Your stationery on every export

Set the firm's typefaces, sizes, margins, letterhead and footer once, plus firm-wide drafting standards and per-case instructions. Every Word and PDF export follows them; ask for a different font in chat and that file honours it.

Review, redline, extract

Review a document for strengths, weaknesses and risks, or clause by clause against a firm position. Compare two versions and download a genuine tracked-changes Word file. Ask one question across a pile of documents and get a table, exported to Excel.

Documents desk

Scans read like typed documents

Scanned PDFs and photographs are read with OCR once, at upload, so review, comparison, extraction and drafting all work on old paper as well as new Word files.

Uploads

SharePoint case folders

Link one SharePoint folder to a case and its files sync into the case's documents — read-only, through your firm's own Microsoft app registration.

Questions firms ask

Will drafts keep our precedent's formatting?

Silk reads the layout of uploaded Word and PDF precedents — typeface, numbering, indents — and writes exports in that form on your stationery. When an export did not carry the formatting through, Silk says so in the reply rather than claiming a fidelity the file lacks.

Who decides what goes into the precedent bank?

Your curators. Anyone in the firm can submit a precedent, but only approved precedents become drafting bases for everyone else.

Does Silk write to our SharePoint?

No. Access is read-only: files flow from the linked folder into the case, never back.

Which file formats come out?

Word (.docx) and PDF for drafts and reviews, a tracked-changes Word file for comparisons, and Excel for extraction tables.

Do drafts still need checking?

Yes. Silk is a generative-AI assistant: every draft must be checked by a qualified practitioner before it is relied on or sent out.

Put your precedents to work.
