Privacy: cookies and advertising
This notice covers the public pages of silkai.co.za — the welcome and landing pages, sign-up and sign-in. How we handle your firm's content inside the service is set out in the Terms and Conditions and the Trial Period Agreement. The responsible party is Tailored Intelligence (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2026/700194/07), 531 Dipka Street, Erasmuskloof, Pretoria.
Cookies we set ourselves
- silk_attr— remembers, for 90 days, the campaign link that brought you here (its campaign tags and ad click identifier), the first page you opened and the referring website. When a firm signs up we keep this with the firm's record so we can tell which advert or post led to it.
- silk_consent — remembers your choice about advertising cookies.
- silk_session and related sign-in cookies — set only when you sign in, and needed for the service to work.
Advertising cookies — only with your consent
We use the Meta Pixel and the Google tag to measure how our adverts perform. They load only if you choose “Accept”; if you decline, or make no choice, they are not loaded. They are never loaded inside the Silk application. Once loaded, Meta and Google set their own cookies and process the data under their own privacy policies. You can withdraw consent at any time below; you can also clear their cookies in your browser.
Hashed contact details shared with ad platforms
When a firm signs up, we record a SHA-256 hash of the email address and phone number given at sign-up — a one-way code, not the address or number itself. To measure which adverts lead to sign-ups, trials and subscriptions, we may share these hashes, with the event and its campaign identifiers, with the advertising platforms we use (Google, Meta and LinkedIn). The platforms use them to match the event to their own users for measurement. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use the contact numbers you give us for marketing messages.
Your rights under POPIA
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to its processing for advertising measurement. Write to us at the address above. You may also complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.
